Inkwell Readings is a written psychic reading service built around a single idea: an answer you keep is worth more than an hour of conversation you’ll mostly forget. Everything about how we operate — how readers are matched, how pricing is structured, how refunds work — follows from that one starting point.

Why we started this

Inkwell Readings started from a simple frustration with the rest of the industry: readings that vanish the moment the call ends, and readers who are hard to hold accountable for what they actually said because there’s no record of it. We built a service around the opposite idea — a reading is a document. You get it in writing, you keep it, and if it doesn’t actually address your question, there’s a record of exactly what was said so we can put it right. That record is also what makes it possible for us to genuinely stand behind our own readers’ work, rather than just their reputations. It also means a reading written for you two years ago can still be checked against what actually happened, rather than fading into a half-remembered call nobody can fully account for.

How we work

Each of our readers works independently and specializes in a different kind of question. Dorothea Vance reads questions about decisions and timing, Marcus Obie Reyes reads questions about relationships and family, and Imogen Castellane reads questions about grief and closure — see Our Readers for the full picture. When you submit a question, it goes to a specific person, not a queue. They read it, think about it, and write your reading themselves. We don’t auto-generate readings, and we don’t pad a short answer into a longer one just to justify a higher price tier.

What we’re not

We’re not a directory of profiles to browse and pick from, and we’re not a live chat platform with a psychic reading bolted on as an upsell. There’s one thing to do here: ask a question and get a written answer back. Everything on this site is built around that, not around keeping you on a call as long as possible. If you’re looking for a live psychic chat or a phone consultation, we’re happy to say plainly that this isn’t it.

What we believe a reading is for

A reading is a considered outside perspective on a question you’re already sitting with — not a substitute for professional advice, and not a guarantee of a specific outcome. We say this plainly rather than burying it in fine print, because a reading is more useful when you know exactly what to expect from it and what not to. Read our full Disclaimer for the specifics.
